Technology Opens Doors, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to enhance the ability of the homeless to find meaningful employment by providing access to computers and other technology and delivering training in basic applications.
Technology is all around us — so much so that we don’t even notice it and often times take it for granted. I have always loved technology, but it wasn’t until I visited the Georgia Works men’s homeless shelter with my French class that I realized how many opportunities technology has given me. I wanted to be able to share the benefits of technology with the men at Georgia Works in order to better position them to apply for meaningful jobs. That is why I created Technology Opens Doors, a non-profit organization that collects and donates computers to be used by the residents of homeless shelters throughout Atlanta and trains them to use technology.
